Perry Named to Georgia Placemaking Collaborative

The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and the Georgia Cities Foundation (GCF) named the City of Perry as a firt-year community in the Georgia Placemaking Collaborative’s 2024 program.

The collaborative is a two-year program that seeks to bring or restore prosperity through the creation of a community placemaking strategy. The stratgies capitalize on local assets to creat health, appealing, and unique places for people to live, work, and play. Participants receive training from expert practitioners, along with facilitated work sessions, and peer learning opportunities with other communities.

“Attracting and retaining talent is critical for Georgia to proper in a knowledge-based-economy, and placemaking can serve as an effective economic development tool to draw talented workers and entrepreneurs,” said GMA CEO and Executive Director Larry Hanson

About the Georgia Cities Foundation: The Georgia Cities Foundation seeks to assist cities in their community and economic development efforts to revitalize and enhance underserved downtown areas, by serving as a partner and facilitator in funding capital projects, and by providing training and technical assistance.
