Downtown Façade Grant Program

The City of Perry Main Street Advisory Board offers a Façade Grant Program to encourage investment, preserve the character of historic buildings, and enhance the visual appeal of our downtown district.

This competitive grant program is available to current and active businesses and property owners located within the Downtown Development District. The goal is to support revitalization efforts that strengthen the commercial core of Downtown Perry, encourage economic development, and honor the area’s unique architectural charm.

Facade Grant Guidelines and Application

Purpose of the Program

The Façade Grant Program provides financial incentives to:

Restore and preserve historic building features

Renovate or rehabilitate building facades in the downtown commercial area

Improve storefronts and enhance curb appeal

Encourage high-quality, historically appropriate design

The Façade Grant Program is one of many ways the City of Perry supports small businesses, preserves its heritage, and keeps our downtown thriving. Each project contributes to the story, character, and vitality of Historic Downtown Perry.

Who Can Apply

Eligible applicants include:

Property owners

Business owners (with property owner’s approval)

Tenants with a minimum of one year remaining on their lease (with written consent)

Grant Details

Maximum Grant Award: Up to $2,000 per property, matching on a 50/50 reimbursement basis.

Eligible Improvements Include:

Exterior painting and cleaning

Masonry repair and tuck-pointing

Repair or replacement of windows, doors, or awnings

Exterior lighting

Signage consistent with design guidelines

Restoration of architectural details

Application Process

Submit an Application: Completed applications must include proposed plans, cost estimates, and photos of the existing conditions.

Design Review: Applications are reviewed by the Main Street Advisory Board for alignment with historic preservation and design standards.

Approval & Reimbursement: Work must not begin until the project is approved. Upon completion and inspection, funds are reimbursed for eligible expenses.
