Between November 2022 and February 2023, the Middle Georgia Regional Commission partnered with the City of Perry and Perry Downtown Development Authority to re-examine the parking needs and usage within the City’s downtown area.
The total amount of parking spaces within walking distance to the downtown area has increased over the past five years, and many conveniently located spaces are regularly unoccupied. This is particularly true along Main Street, where parking spaces within 500 feet of the middle of Downtown Perry are typically occupied less than 20 percent of the time.
