About the Main Street Program
Perry is a designated Georgia Main Street city and part of a statewide network of communities committed to economic development through historic preservation. The Main Street movement is rooted in a community-driven, comprehensive approach known as the Main Street Four-Point Approach, developed by the National Main Street Center.

The Four-Point Approach®
The Four-Point Approach provides a proven framework for downtown revitalization and aligns with the four forces of real estate value—economic, political, social, and physical.
Organization: Building partnerships and community consensus to support downtown revitalization.
Design: Enhancing the physical appearance of downtown through historic preservation, design improvements, and place-based development.
Promotion: Marketing the downtown district to residents, visitors, and investors through events, branding, and storytelling.
Economic Vitality: Strengthening existing businesses, recruiting new ones, and supporting downtown as a center of commerce and entrepreneurship.
