City of Perry Accepting Applications for 2025-2026 Youth Advisory Council
The City of Perry is now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 Perry Youth Advisory Council (PYAC) for high school students who live or attend school in the Perry area.
PYAC provides students with a unique opportunity to learn how local government works, engage directly with city leaders, and participate in meaningful projects that make a real difference in their community. The program is open to students ages 16–18 who attend Perry High School, Veterans High School, The Westfield School, or are homeschooled in the Perry area.
The Council consists of seven student members who commit to a one-year term. During the program, students attend monthly meetings from September through April, volunteer at local events such as Food Truck Fridays and community festivals, and present ideas to help shape Perry’s future. Members also gain behind-the-scenes access to departments such as public safety, planning and zoning, and economic development.
In addition to gaining leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, PYAC members receive volunteer hours, a certificate of completion, and a recommendation letter that supports future college or job applications.
Applications are open from July 1 through August 13, 2025, and can be submitted online at perry-ga.gov/pyac.
