On July 2, 2023, at around 11:50 p.m. the Perry Police Department was notified that a victim with an apparent gunshot wound had arrived at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. After speaking to the victim officers determined the shooting was a result of a marijuana deal that turned into an armed robbery that occurred near the intersection of Newport Ave and Glennfinnan Way in Perry.
