Perry City Council
The Perry City Council is the legislative body of the Perry local government.
The City Council is responsible for adopting all ordinances and resolutions, approving the annual operating and capital budgets, setting all tax rates, approving the five-year Capital Improvement Program, setting all user fees, making land use and zoning decisions, and establishing long-range plans and policies.
- The Council, in its legislative role, adopts all ordinances and resolutions and establishes the general policies of the City. The Council also sets the real estate tax rate and approves and adopts the annual operating budget.
- The City Council meets in regular session the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. at Perry City Hall located at 808 Carroll Street. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Public hearings are held to provide an opportunity for citizen input on actions taken by City Council. Public notices of hearings are published in The Houston Home Journal 15 days prior to the public hearing date. Announcements of public hearings are also displayed in the Municipal Building Lobby and on our website.
