Election Information

The City conducts non-partisan elections every other odd year. The mayor and three (3) council members run in one election. The other three (3) council members run two (2) years later. Each office has a four (4) year term.

The election process is as provided for in state law, with the election date set on the first Tuesday in November. Therefore, all seats are not up for election during the same election year. Citizens age 18 and over may register to vote at the Houston County Voter Registration Office, Houston County Government Building, Perry, GA; at the DMV when applying for a motor vehicle driver’s license; by mail (applications available at the Perry-Houston County Library, and the DMV); or in-person at special registration locations set-up prior to elections.

Perry has one polling place for local election: the Perry Community Center (Rozar Park).
