The City of Perry is committed to the preservation of Perry’s heritage and historical assets. The Perry Historic Preservation Commission supports, identifies, and determines the historical, cultural, and aesthetic heritage of the City of Perry.
The Commission seeks to stimulate the revitalization of the business districts and neighborhoods and protect and enhance local historic and aesthetic attractions to tourists.
Meetings occur on the second Tuesday of each month and are held at Perry City Hall (808 Carroll Street). Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. and are open to the public.
Prepare and maintain an inventory of all property within the City of Perry having the potential for designation as historic property.
Recommend specific districts, sites, buildings, structures, or objects to be designated by ordinance as historic properties or districts to City Council.
Review Certificate of Appropriateness applications to approve or reject within the provision of the established ordinance.
