Council Member Dr. Darryl Albritton was elected to council in 2019. A 1981 graduate of Perry High, Dr. Albritton is a retired educator from the Houston County Board of Education. He served as Principal at Kings Chapel Elementary and Perry High. Awards under his leadership include the 2005 Georgia School of Excellence and Governor’s Cup for SAT improvement. He was also recognized as Teacher of the Year while teaching at Tucker Elementary. Dr. Albritton is married to Terri and has three grown children who are proud Perry High graduates.

Dr. Albritton was appointed Mayor Pro-Tem for 2023.
