Perry Police Identify Suspect in Lewd Phone Call Investigation

On August 28, 2025, an employee of a local Perry business received a disturbing phone call from an unknown male subject. The employee reported that the caller made vulgar comments of a sexual nature while simultaneously performing lewd acts during the call.
Perry Police Department Detectives were able to identify the suspects phone number which detectives used to obtain a search warrant for the associated phone records. The investigation identified both the source of the calls and the location from which they originated. Detectives from the Perry Police Department, with the assistance of the Upson County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at a residence in Thomaston, Georgia. The cellphone used to make the calls was recovered from Michael Antwoine Hammond.
Further investigation revealed that this was not an isolated incident. Records indicate that the same phone number has been used to contact multiple businesses in Warner Robins, GA, Newnan, GA, and Horry County, SC.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Michael Antwoine Hammond. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible. If anyone has received telephone calls that are similar, please call and report the incident to law enforcement.
