Perry Police Investigating Fatal Shooting at Houston Lake Apartments
On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 9:28 p.m., Houston 911 received a call reporting shots fired at Houston Lake Apartments.
Upon arrival, officers began checking the area on foot where the shots were believed to have been fired. During the search, officers located an adult male behind the 1700 building who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Houston County Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified, and authorities are currently working to notify the next of kin.
Investigators with the Perry Police Department, along with crime scene investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), are continuing to process the scene and follow up on possible leads.
Currently, authorities do not believe there is an active threat to the public.
