On May 20, 2023, at 130am Officers from the Perry Police Department were dispatched to the area of Winstead Ct. Perry Ga in reference to multiple gun shots fired and vehicles speeding in the area. Once the officers arrived it was discovered that there was a party taking place and an altercation between two individuals. Officers discovered multiple rounds from a rifle had been fired but no one was injured. Officers also discovered that a mailbox had been hit by a vehicle which fled the scene as well.

Detectives were able to identify the individual that fired the shots and arrested him at his residence in Warner Robins GA with the assistance of Houston County Sheriff Department SRT team and Warner Robins Police Department. The individual arrested is identified as Ja'Mez Ja'Lee Barrett 18 years old from Warner Robins. Barrett is charged with Aggravated Assault currently and other charges maybe pending. Barrett is being held at the Houston County Detention Center with no bond.
