City of Perry Celebrates Juneteenth

The City of Perry will recognize Juneteenth with the 2nd annual Freedom Day Festival on Saturday, June 18 at Rozar Park from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.

Featuring food trucks, a variety of vendors, live entertainment on two stages, and much more, our FREE Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival promises to be an event that the entire family will enjoy!

Additional free activities include:

  • Brandon & Jarell of Down to Earth Aerials perform the cyr wheel, break dancing, and other "cirque" style entertainment,
  • Black Lion Reggae perform popular songs with a unique reggae twist,
  • Dream a Little Wish Entertainment - meet and take photos with Black Panther, Cinderella, and Princess Tiana,
  • Middle Georgia Game Trailer - state of the art mobile video game entertainment trailer, and
  • Free face painting and bounce houses for children

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

Rozar Park is located at 1060 Keith Drive in Perry.
