The City of Perry will host the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Festival on Saturday, June 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Perry Events Center.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Today, Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.

This free event will feature live music, dancing, food trucks, a variety of vendors, and children’s activities. The Black History 101 Mobile Museum will also be on site from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The exhibit will showcase over 10,000 original artifacts of Black memorabilia dating from the trans-Atlantic slave trade era to hip-hop culture.
