City of Perry Launches Youth Advisory Council
The City of Perry is accepting applications for the City’s first Youth Advisory Council.
This program gives students the opportunity to provide their input on the City’s decision-making process, participate in projects that will benefit the community, and instill a sense of civic responsibility.
“Facilitating enhanced communication with Perry’s youth is a key strategy in Council’s strategic plan. We look forward to offering Perry’s high school-aged youth the opportunity to learn more about their local government.” – said Tabitha Clark, Senior Communications Manager.
The Council will consist of 7 members with 2 representatives from Perry High School, Veterans High School, and Westfield, and an additional “at large” member. The “at large” member will represent the Perry homeschool community.
Applicants should have an interest in local government and how it functions, be able to commit to serving one full term, be in good academic standing, and free of any serious disciplinary actions at their respective school. Members must also be a current Perry resident.
Applicants may apply online at www.perry-ga.gov/YAC. The deadline to apply for consideration is August 25.
