City of Perry’s Georgia Initiative for Community Housing Alumni Certification Extended

The City of Perry’s Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH) Alumni Certification by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs was extended through 2024.

The certification ensures GICH program alumni continue to address affordable housing issues within their communities by utilizing the Housing Plan document developed while participating in the program.

There are five criteria that communities must meet to be certified as alumni: GICH Team Continuity, Retreat Attendance, Continuing Education, Annual Performance, and Housing Plan .

The certification makes the City of Perry eligible for the competitive advantage afforded to GICH communities on Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) applications from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA).
