Crowd-Funded BOOST Grant Benefits Downtown Business

Posted on

The Swanson is the latest recipient of the BOOST grant. The downtown business, known for their southern home cooking, will purchase a new walk-in freezer with the $500.00 grant.

The BOOST program provides crowd-funded micro-grants to entrepreneurs and small business owners in the downtown development district. Since 2015, the program has awarded nearly $13,000 to downtown businesses in Perry.

Investors, known as BOOSTers, donate funds to the program and vote on applications. William Jackson with Ace Hardware, Dey Palmer with Bank of Perry, David Cosey with Davis Oil Company, and Cheri Adams with the Houston Home Journal contributed to this grant.
