Halloweeletka

Posted on

Come celebrate “Halloweeletka” on the Weeletka Trail in Perry from October 30 – November 1!

Families are invited to enjoy a variety of free Halloween themed activities that everyone can enjoy safely and independently on their own schedule!

Additionally, we will also be hosting pop-up dessert vendors, fun contests, and giveaways throughout the weekend, so make plans to get spirited with us! Costumes are encouraged!

Halloweelet-kits!

Thanks to our partners, we will be giving away FREE “Halloweelet-Kits” at Rotary Centennial Park on the weekend of October 30 – November 1! Limited quantity, available while supplies last.

Each kit will include an apron, chalk, and assorted Halloween goodies for kids to enjoy while participating in the Halloweeletka activities (limit one kit per child, please). Kits ARE NOT required to participate and City of Perry residency is NOT required to receive a kit or participate.

Activity #1: Go On A Ghost Hunt!

Visit the Weeletka Trail in Perry anytime from Friday, October 30th through Sunday, November 1st and search for more than a dozen friendly ghosts hidden high amongst the trees!

Activity #2: Enjoy A Story Book Walk!

A Story Book Walk is a fun, educational activity that places the pages from a children’s story along a trail in a community. So take a walk along the Weeletka Trail anytime from Friday, October 30th through Sunday, November 1st to enjoy our Story Book Walk. The story selected for our Story Book Walk is: “That Monster on the Block.” Join ‘Monster’ as he confronts his fears in this charming and lighthearted look at what it means to accept others who are different from us.

Activity #3: Participate In A Community-Wide Chalk Walk!

Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to select a space along the Weeletka Trail to chalk a Halloween or Fall-Themed design of their choice, then take a walk along the trail to see the designs that others have made!

Spaces are free, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Complementary chalk will be made available along the trail, however artists are welcome to bring their own chalk.

This is a family event. Artwork containing profanity or any content deemed vulgar, derogatory, controversial or otherwise inappropriate by the City will be removed.

The Weeletka Trail can be accessed at 104 MLK Jr. Drive, Perry, GA 31069.

Please practice social distancing by keeping space between yourself and other attendees while you visit the trail. Masks are encouraged and hand sanitizer stations will be available.
