Perry Fire & Emergency Services Launches Junior Fire Academy

Perry Fire & Emergency Services will host the Junior Fire Academy, scheduled from June 10 to June 14, running daily from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Davis Farm Fire Station.

The Junior Fire Academy is a five-day immersive camp designed to introduce upcoming City of Perry 7th and 8th grade students to the dynamic world of firefighting. The program aims to educate participants about the responsibilities, teamwork, and leadership skills integral to a firefighter's career.

Participants will engage in a variety of hands-on activities and educational experiences. Activities include:

  • A Tour of the Fire Station and Apparatus
  • Fire Extinguisher Training
  • First Aid Training
  • CPR Training
  • Mock Search and Rescue Drills
  • Hose Operations

The Junior Fire Academy will host orientation on Monday, June 3, at 6:00 PM at Davis Farm Fire Station 2. Participants and their parents or guardians will receive an overview of the program and complete a Waiver of Liability.

The Junior Fire Academy is open to City of Perry 7th and 8th grade students in the upcoming school year.

Davis Farm Fire Station is located at 150 Commodore Drive in Perry.
