On January 21, 2021, at 1530 hours, Perry Police Officers were dispatched to 1353 Sam Nunn Pkwy, in reference to a shooting.

Once officers arrived on the scene, we identified a 17 YOA that had been shot one time in the groin area. The shooter had fled the scene into a neighborhood located on W.F. Ragin Drive.

Responding Officers were able to locate the shooter and arrest him without incident. The firearm was also recovered that was used in the shooting. Suspect identified as Jarkevion Raines (black male, 18 YOA) a Perry resident. Raines is currently being held at the Houston County Detention Center for one count of Aggravated Assault.
