Perry Police Department Responds to Armed Robbery/Aggravated Assault

On November 4th, 2023, at around 6:00 A.M. the Perry Police Department responded to 1602 Sam Nunn Blvd, Quality Inn in reference to a personal armed robbery. Officer arrived on scene and learned that a black male had entered the two victim’s hotel room brandishing a handgun and demanding money. There were no injuries reported by any of the victims. The offender, later identified as Willie Harris Jr, B/M 54 years of age, from Montezuma, Georgia fled the scene in one of the victims 2019 White Chrysler 300. Detectives were later able to identify three additional offenders involved in the incident, Alexus Byse B/F 26 years of age, Dexter Sutton B/M 25 years of age, and Carlesia Byse B/F 19 years of age, all are from Motezuma, Georgia. Willie Harris Jr, Dexter Sutton and Alexus Byse have been arrested and are currently being held at the Houston County Detention Center.

The four offenders were charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a felony, and Theft by Taking (Motor vehicle).
