Perry Police Department to Host Women’s Firearm Safety Class

The City of Perry Police Department will host a 2-day Women’s Firearm Safety class on April 20 and April 22.

The class will provide participants with knowledge of basic safety training including loading, unloading, and firing of handguns. In addition, the class will provide information on Georgia law regarding possession, concealment, and legal justifications for use of deadly force.

Class will be held at the Perry Police Department (1207 Washington Street) in the training room on April 20 for 2 hours beginning at 6:00 p.m. Class will be at the Perry Police Department Shooting Range (261 Toomer Road) on April 22 for 3 hours beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Registration begins April 3. Participants must be 21 years of age, a resident of Perry or Houston County, consent to a background check, and complete a registration and liability form. Registration begins on April 3 and ends on April 17 or until the class is full. The fee is $28 per participant.

Participants must bring their own weapon, ammo, safety glasses, and ear protection. Class participation is limited to 16 people. Registration can be found on our https://perryrec.recdesk.com/Community/Home.
