Perry’s Farmers Market Celebrates National Farmers Market Week

The Perry Farmers’ Market joins markets across the country in celebrating National Farmers Market Week from August 7-13, 2022.

National Farmers Market Week is an annual celebration of farmers markets coordinated by the Farmers Market Coalition, a membership-based nonprofit organization that supports farmers markets nationwide through training, technical assistance, and network-building. This year, the campaign is centered around the essential role that farmers market operators play in our local food systems and in developing resilience in communities as hubs for local economies and connection.

The Downtown Perry Farmers Market currently hosts 21 vendors selling a wide variety of products, including fresh produce, mushrooms, microgreens, coffee, baked goods, honey, crafts, and more. The Market is sponsored by Perry Main Street.

Recently, the Market received $2,500 from AgGeorgia Farm Credit for the promotion and advertisement of the growing market in the heart of Historic Downtown Perry.

Downtown Manager, Alicia Hartley commented, “We are happy to see the Downtown Perry Farmers Market continue to grow. Celebrating National Farmers Market Week is another way that we can bring awareness the market and to the local growers that help support our community.”

The market runs every Saturday, year-round, from 9:00 am – 1:00 p.m.. This year, the Downtown Perry Farmers Market relocated into the parking lot of 808 Carroll Street.
