Special Election Called For District 2 Post 2 Council Seat

A special election for the office of City Council, District 2, Post 2, to fill the vacancy created by the expiration of Joy Peterson’s term on December 31, 2023 was officially called by the Perry City Council on February 6, 2024.

Due to no qualified canidates to be added to the ballot for the General Election for the seat of Council Member for District 2, Post 2 held on November 7, 2023, a special election is required to fill her vacancy.

Qualifying Details for Perry’s District 2 Post 2 seat:

  • Monday, March 4, 2024 beginning at 9:00 a.m.– Friday, March 8, 2024 ending at 12:00 p.m.
  • Perry City Hall (808 Carroll Street)

Special Election Details:

  • Tuesday, May 21, 2024 (regular polling districts)
  • Early Voting at Houston County Board of Elections (2030 Kings Chapel Road)
