Train Like a Firefighter Returns November 8
The Perry Fire Department invites the community to participate in the Train Like a Firefighter event on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10 AM. The event will be held at Davis Farm Fire Station 2, located at 150 Commodore Drive.
Participants will take on the department’s physical agility test, gaining hands-on experience through seven skill stations that mirror real firefighter training. Perry Fire Department members will guide participants through each station, offering insight into the physical demands and teamwork required in the fire service.
After practicing each skill, participants can gear up with a firefighter helmet, gloves, and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to complete the full course. Those who finish in seven minutes or less will meet the state standard for firefighters.
The program is designed to help citizens gain a deeper understanding of the department, explore firefighting as a potential career, and enjoy a unique and challenging exercise opportunity.
