City of Perry Moves Forward with Phase 2 of Sadie Heights Flood Mitigation Project
The City of Perry is moving forward with Phase 2 of the Sadie Heights/Stonegate Trail Flood Mitigation Project, an effort designed to reduce flooding in the affected neighborhoods.
Following an extensive evaluation of potential solutions, the City selected a design to maximize flood-level reductions while meeting environmental permitting requirements.
Phase 1, which included replacing culverts beneath Stonegate Trail, was substantially completed during summer 2026. Perry Mayor and City Council recently awarded the Phase 2 construction contract to LeClay Construction.
LeClay Construction will coordinate with affected property owners and homeowners' associations to provide information regarding construction schedules and safety measures. Construction will generally occur Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Substantial completion is anticipated by late spring or early summer 2027, weather permitting.
Once completed, the project is expected to lower flood levels, placing all homes in Sadie Heights and Stonegate above the 100-year flood level. Occasional flooding may still occur during larger storms.
