Officers Make Quick Arrest in Murder Investigation

On January 11, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a stabbing occurred during a domestic in the parking lot of Creekwood Park, 101 Ida Lassater Circle, Perry, Georgia.

The victim was identified as Shateria Kendrick (black female, 20 YOA from Perry, Georgia) was stabbed multiple times. She was transported to the Perry Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The suspect Matthew Jamal Kendrick (black male, 22 YOA, from Perry, Georgia) was taken into custody without incident.

Matthew Kendrick has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Knife during the commission of certain crimes. Kendrick is being held at the Houston County Detention Center.
