Perry Firefighters Rescue Trapped Woman
In the early morning of June 2, Perry Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire at the Soho Inn on Valley Drive. Responders were advised people might be trapped inside a room.
The Perry Police Department also arrived at the building and alerted other occupants about the fire. They provided support to ensure other rooms were empty.
Perry firefighters from Rescue 1 and Engine 1 began their efforts to extinguish the fire. Tower 1 crews used forcible entry tactics to enter the room. A woman was rescued and turned over to emergency medical personnel for treatment. She later recovered and returned home.
The determined efforts, prompt response, and great personal risk of our responders were instrumental in saving many lives that night.
We recognize and appreciate their selfless actions and valiant service to our community!
