Perry Police Department Responds to Aggravated Assault

UPDATE – 1/5/2024 at 8:41 A.M.

On January 3, 2024, at around 2 P.M. the Perry Police Department responded to the area of Gaines Drive and Stanley Street in reference to a shooting. Responding officers found two males with gunshot wounds. One male had a gunshot wound to the abdomen; the other male had gunshot wounds to both arms. Perry Police Officers and Perry Fire units rendered medical aid. The injured subjects were both transported by Houston County EMS to Navicent Medical Center in Macon.

A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged with Criminal Attempt to commit Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault (2 Counts), and Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He is currently being held in the juvenile detention center.

The case is currently under investigation. There will be more information provided when it becomes available.
