Perry Police Department Responds to Aggravated Assault/Armed Robbery Incident

On Friday, September 22nd, 2023 at 3:32am, the Perry Police Department received an emergency 911 call to Circle K, located at 1505 Sam Nunn Blvd. in reference to an aggravated assault and armed robbery incident. The Perry Police Patrol Division responded, contacted the victim and learned she was attacked by a male armed with a knife when she exited the business and attempted to enter her vehicle. With the assistance of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, Deondre Terrell Haynes of Perry was located nearby and apprehended without further incident. Haynes was identified as the assailant by the victim, a witness and security footage from the business. Haynes was charged with Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery and Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Felony. He is currently being held at the Houston County Detention Center.
