Perry Police Welcomes New Captain

Please welcome Alan Everidge, newly hired Captain of the Patrol Division. Capt. Everidge is a lifelong resident of Houston County and began his law enforcement career with the Warner Robins Police Department in 1987. Later, Alan went to work with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office where he served in the Patrol/ Traffic divisions. During his career with the Sheriff’s Office, he served on the Sheriff’s Response Team for 15 years where he served as Team Commander for 7 years.

He later served as an investigator in both the Juvenile and Criminal Investigations divisions. Alan served as a Patrol Shift Supervisor and later was promoted to Lieutenant to serve as the office manager for the Perry office of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. His duties also included a nearly 10-year stint as Captain of the Warrant/Civil and Records division. He later was promoted to Major as the Jail Administrator of the 665-bed facility where he served for 8 years until his retirement from the Sheriff’s Office.

Alan has obtained numerous certifications through the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico VA, the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College, and has served in the Georgia Law Enforcement International Exchange Program in Israel.

Alan and his wife, Felicia, who is an instructor at Central Georgia Technical College, have two daughters, Conner and Christina.
