Restaurant Career Fair To Connect With Future Employees

The City of Perry will host a Restaurant Career Fair on September 22 to connect local restaurants with their future employees.

Participating restaurants include Cracker Barrel, The Swanson, IHOP, Bodega Brew, Waffle House, Domino’s, Chick-Fil-A, Schultze’s, Hazard’s, The Perfect Pear Catering, Sonny’s BBQ, Red Lobster, Houston Lake Country Club, and Wendy’s will be on-site to conduct interviews and help attendees with the application process.

Available positions include part-time servers, grill cooks, delivery drivers, hosts and hostesses, cashiers, sandwich makers, and management-level positions. Participating restaurants offer wages including server pay plus tips, hourly up to $17/hour for openers, closers, and management salary levels at $60,000. Full-time positions for some of the participating restaurants include competitive benefits, paid time off, tuition reimbursement for college students, flexible schedules, and opportunities for advancement.

City of Perry Economic Development Administrator, Ashley Hardin, CEcD said, “Our restaurants are looking forward to finding good talent at this career fair. They are hiring and people are looking for work. We are excited for this opportunity to connect them.” She added that her office has already received calls from residents seeking employment and plan to attend.

The Restaurant Career Fair takes place on Wednesday, September 22 at the Perry Events Center (1121 Macon Road) from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Attendees who visit at least eight participating restaurants at the career fair are entered into a random drawing for door prizes consisting of gift cards and free meals. The first 50 attendees will also receive a City of Perry swag bag.
