Sewer Master Plan Earns Community Achievement Award
The Georgia Association of Zoning Administrators awarded the City of Perry with the 2022 Community Achievement Award for the City’s Sewer Master Plan.
As the City of Perry continues to grow quickly, averaging about 500 new single-family residential units per year, there was a need to develop a Sewer Master Plan to help plan the necessary, significant improvements to the City’s system.
“The Perry Sewer Master Plan is an innovative analysis produced by our private engineering partner, GWES, LLC, and is comprised of a development plan for anticipating and meeting future sewer needs as the City grows,” says Holly Wharton. City of Perry Community Planner.
The Perry Sewer Master Plan will look to provide for 3 significant improvements.
- Planning for and construction of a new Wastewater Treatment Facility that will primarily serve the East and South sewer basins but also help to take the load off the existing Frank Satterfield Wastewater Treatment facility, allowing for additional development in the core and north/west areas of the city.
- Buildout of the East Perry sewer trunk line that will provide for the proper conveyance of wastewater to the new plant.
- Buildout of the South Perry sewer trunk line that will provide for the proper conveyance of wastewater to the new plant.
