Leisure Services Announces James E. Worrall Scholarship Fund

Perry Leisure Services announces the establishment of the James E. Worrall Foundation Scholarship Fund to provide a $25 registration fee discount for youth participating in Perry Leisure Services activities.

In November 2023, the James E. Worrall Foundation generously donated $5,000 to Perry Leisure Services to help make this scholarship fund possible.

Scholarships are only available while funds last.

Each qualifying family may receive a maximum award of $400 per calendar year, starting from January 1st, 2024, to December 31st, 2024.

"We are delighted to introduce the James E. Worrall Foundation Scholarship Fund, which is designed to make sports participation more accessible for youth in our community," says Leisure Services Director Curtis Coates, III. "This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting families and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder youth from participating in sports."

About the James E. Worrall Foundation: The James E. Worrall Foundation is a living legacy to honor the late Mayor James E. Worrall and his 20 years of service to the City of Perry. The Worrall Foundation, led by volunteers and headed by former City of Perry Councilmember Joe Posey, works to promote and fund recreational activities within the City of Perry to further Mayor Worrall’s goal of improving opportunities for the community’s youth.
