Perry Launches “Cans for Kindness” to Support Families Impacted by Government Shutdown
Businesses across Perry are uniting to support community members affected by the government shutdown through a special initiative called Cans for Kindness – Shop Small. Give Big.
From November 10–21, shoppers can bring five canned goods to any participating business and receive 10% off their purchase. All donated items will go toward helping local families and individuals in need during this challenging time.
“Downtown Perry has always been a community that takes care of its own,” said Alicia Hartley, City of Perry Downtown Manager. “Cans for Kindness allows residents to make a meaningful impact while supporting our small, locally owned businesses.”
Participating merchants will display the official Cans for Kindness window poster to indicate their involvement. Customers are encouraged to check with each business for details and any exclusions that may apply.
Participating businesses include Ace Hardware, Acres & Oaks Kitchen, Ashley Marie’s, Brittle & Co., Broken Arrow Outfitters, Caty’s on Carroll, Cossart Design, Ghost Runner Pizza, Gottwals Books, Initial Reaction, Lanier Hayes Designs, Madison Beauty Bar, Mossy Cree Natural, New Perry Cleaners, Orleans on Carroll Street, Paws Awhile Cat Café, Peachy Playtown, Preferred Trophies, Sole Shoe Company, Sweet Evelyn’s, The Bold Kind, Perfect Pear, Village Boutique, and Bodega Brew.
