Perry Police Department Receives Continued State Certification

The Perry Police Department was awarded state certification by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police for their dedication to service to the Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program.

The certification status represents a significant professional achievement for a law enforcement agency. It acknowledges the implementation of policies and procedures are conceptually sound and operationally effective.

The review is conducted every three years by outside assessors. During December of 2022, the assessors inspected over 140 standards within the Perry Police Department including training, use of force, evidence storage, pursuits, and safe operation of vehicles.

The Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program establishes standards promoting professionalism in law enforcement, oversee the State Certification process, and award certification status to Georgia Law Enforcement agencies that meet the established standards.
