Tucker Elementary's Jr. Beta Club will be constructing a life-sized chessboard as a community service project. This new Rozar Park amenity will be open and accessible to all users.
Chess is one of the electives HCBE encourages the Gifted, Talented, and Exceptional (GTE) students to experience. The strategic and critical thinking component has been linked to scholastic achievement. Tucker Elementary students are incredibly excited about this project. We partnered with this group to combine their interest in chess with our interest in providing leisure opportunities to our citizens.
