Red Speed School Zone Cameras Begin Operation July 30 Houston County Schools start back July 30, and Red Speed School Zone Cameras will be active the same day. Cameras will operate one hour before and after school during arrival and dismissal times. A warning period will run from July 30 to September 1, with warnings issued instead of citations. Perry Begins Automated School Zone Enforcement August 1 Update – January 6, 2023 Cameras at Matt Arthur Elementary School (Highway 127) and Perry Middle (Perry Parkway) are active as of January 6, 2023. The cameras will target speeders exceeding more than ten (10+) miles per hour over the posted speed limit in school zones.
