The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Perry for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019.

The City of Perry has received this recognition twenty times since 1996.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. This award represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

Brenda King, City of Perry Director of Administration, commented, “the preparation of this report was accomplished through the professional, efficient, and dedicated services of the City of Perry Finance Department and Mauldin & Jenkins, Certified Public Accountants, LLC. Credit also goes to Mayor and Council for their support in maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in the management of the City’s finances.”

The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
