Perry Police Department Receives $1.5 Million Dollar Grant

The Perry Police Department received $1,572,328.98 in grant funds from the Governor’s Office for investments in technology and investigative equipment.

This grant will help add technology to the police department’s current Flock system and add the Fusus platform. This program is a system that allows businesses to give the police department voluntary access to cameras and allow officers to search cameras when investigating crimes on one platform. Beyond the expectation of reduced crime and improved policing strategies in Perry, the Flock Safety and Fusus Deployment program will support a higher quality of life and greater sense of safety for Perry’s residents.

Perry Police Chief Alan Everidge commented, “We believe this technology grant will help us reduce crime and enhance our ability to apprehend criminals, locate missing endangered persons and recover stolen property. This system is not designed for any type of traffic enforcement and will only be used as part of authorized criminal investigations.”
