Mayor and Council Recognize Perry's 200th Birthday Celebration

Mayor and Council recognized Perry’s 200th Birthday at the first Council Meeting of the year. Perry, Georgia, founded in 1824, was named after War of 1812 hero Oliver Hazard Perry, and it was the first municipality in Houston County. Boasting an industrial past, Perry's population surged after Interstate 75's completion in the 1960s.
