On August 7th, 2023, officers with the Perry Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, and Middle Flint Behavioral Health responded to an individual that was barricaded inside of an apartment, threatening to cause harm to others with a firearm at Houston Lake Apartments, 2350 Houston Lake Drive, Perry, Georgia. On January 23, 2023, the Perry Police Department responded to the Dollar General on Plaza Drive, Perry, Georgia in reference to a theft. Once the officers arrived at the scene it was discovered over 150 fraudulent transactions were made by an employee who was employed by Dollar General. The employee was identified as Vanessa Monique Brownlee, 32 YOA, from Warner Robins, Georgia. Dollar General officials estimate the loss as being upward of $80,000.00.
