Mr. James Moody was sworn in as the Councilmember for District 3 Post 2 on the Perry City Council at the January 2, 2024, Council Meeting. UPDATE – 1/5/2024 at 8:41 A.M. On January 3, 2024, at around 2 P.M. the Perry Police Department responded to the area of Gaines Drive and Stanley Street in reference to a shooting. Responding officers found two males with gunshot wounds. One male had a gunshot wound to the abdomen; the other male had gunshot wounds to both arms. The City of Perry Police Department will host a Senior Citizen Firearm Safety class on January 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The class will provide participants with knowledge of basic safety training including loading, unloading, and firing of handguns.
