Perry Firefighters Rescue Trapped Woman

Perry Firefighters Rescue Trapped Woman In the early morning of June 2, Perry Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire at the Soho Inn on Valley Drive. Responders were advised people might be trapped inside a room. The Perry Police Department also arrived at the building and alerted other occupants about the fire. Fall Sports Registration Begins June 14

The City of Perry Leisure Services Department will begin registration for Fall sports on June 14 and continue through July 16. Houston Healthcare and The City of Perry are coming together to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to the Perry community. As of June 1, 2021 Perry City Council work sessions will be held in the Council Chambers at Perry City Hall (1211 Washington Street, Perry). Council meetings will continue to be held at the Perry Events Center (1121 Macon Road, Perry).



Sewer Repair Road Closures | Duncan Avenue & Evergreen Street | UPDATE

UPDATE | May 25, 2021 Work is completed and the road closures/detours are no longer required. The Duncan Avenue and Evergreen Street area will experience road closures and detours beginning Wednesday, May 19. Crews are repairing a sewer issue. Signs directing traffic through detours will be clearly marked and visible. Please use caution when driving in this area.



Pine Needle Park Public Meeting | June 22

The City will host a meeting on Tuesday, June 22 to receive public input for Pine Needle Park amenity suggestions. Pine Needle Park is a 61.35-acre park designed to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and fresh air. The park features two ponds and a large, green landscape with a fenced boundary. Plaque Honoring Blue Bird No. 1 Unveiled in Downtown Perry

Historic Downtown Perry is the home of the first Blue Bird bus. A plaque was unveiled at the corner of Ball and Commerce Streets to commemorate this history. Downtown Development Authority Receives Award for Gas Incentive Program

The City of Perry Downtown Development Authority (DDA) received a Member Award from the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia (MGAG) at their 2021 Annual Membership Meeting on May 6. The award recognizes the authority’s outstanding achievement of their Natural Gas Incentive Program.
