Houston County Joint Comprehensive Plan Review

The City of Perry partnered with the Middle Georgia Regional Commission to develop a strategic plan focused on quality of life amenities, future focus points, and identifying Perry’s strengths and challenges. The plan is now ready for review and we want your thoughts on it! Community members are welcome to attend and provide feedback on the draft comprehensive plan on December 16 at the Houston County Annex (200 Carl Vinson Parkway). The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.

Accepting Used Cooking Oil for Recycling The City’s Vehicle Maintenance Department is accepting used cooking oil for recycling. Oil may be dropped off anytime at the vehicle maintenance shop (500 Ball Street) anytime Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. For more information, contact Bob Taylor at (478) 988-2882.

City Celebrates Andrews Heights Park The City of Perry hosted a dedication for Andrew Heights Park on November 18 to further provide pocket parks to neighborhoods. The 0.24-acre park is designed as part of the Perry Downtown Development Authority’s (DDA) Master Plan and incorporates the expansion of the Downtown District.
