On August 7th, 2023, officers with the Perry Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, and Middle Flint Behavioral Health responded to an individual that was barricaded inside of an apartment, threatening to cause harm to others with a firearm at Houston Lake Apartments, 2350 Houston Lake Drive, Perry, Georgia. On July 2, 2023, at around 11:50 p.m. the Perry Police Department was notified that a victim with an apparent gunshot wound had arrived at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. After speaking to the victim officers determined the shooting was a result of a marijuana deal that turned into an armed robbery that occurred near the intersection of Newport Ave and Glennfinnan Way in Perry.
