Perry Police Hosts Crisis Intervention Training

The Perry Police Department was proud to host the Georgia Crisis Intervention Team Training instructed by the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in February. This intensive, 40-hour five day training prepares law enforcement officers and other public safety personnel with the skills to assist those with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, substance abuse, developmental disorders, or other brain disorders who are in crisis. Narcotics Investigations Leads To 4 Four Arrests

On February 10, 2021, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and the Perry Police Department executed multiple search warrants at locations within Houston County in reference to an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the search of the locations, investigators seized over two kilograms of methamphetamine, marijuana, Xanax tablets, three firearms, and an undisclosed amount of money. Perry Police Apprehend Aggravated Assault Suspect

On January 21, 2021, at 1530 hours, Perry Police Officers were dispatched to 1353 Sam Nunn Pkwy, in reference to a shooting. Once officers arrived on the scene, we identified a 17 YOA that had been shot one time in the groin area. The shooter had fled the scene into a neighborhood located on W.F. Ragin Drive. Perry Police Department Quickly Captures Shooting Suspect

On January 7, 2021, at approximately 1310 hours, a shooting occurred in the parking lot at 1207 Washington Street, at the Perry Police Department. The victim Shantoria M. Taylor (black female) from Perry Georgia was shot 1 time in the lower extremities with a shotgun. Taylor has been transported to Navicent Health in Macon. Help spread cheer throughout the holidays by taking part in the Perry Police Department’s ‘Stuff the Cruiser’ fundraiser benefiting the Perry Volunteer Outreach. Come out on Saturday, December 5th, from 8 AM through 2 PM to help stuff the cruiser for the holidays at the Perry Walmart. They will be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations!
